Praying the Scriptures

Monday Evening Prayer

September 30, 2024

I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world! (John 16:33)

Heavenly Father,

As we gather this Monday evening, we seek comfort in Your presence and the words of Your Son, Jesus, who told us, "In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world." Lord, as we start this week, let this promise echo in our hearts and minds.

We thank You for Your unending strength that sustains us through challenges and for the peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace only You can give. In the midst of our daily trials and the noise of the world, help us to remember that You have overcome all darkness and turmoil.

Grant us courage to face the week ahead with hope and determination, trusting not in our power, but in Your victory over the world. Let us be instruments of Your peace in every place we go, reflecting Your light and love to those around us.

We ask for Your wisdom to discern the paths to take, and for the perseverance to continue walking in faith and love, knowing that our journey is held within Your sovereign hands. Comfort those among us who are weary, uplift those who are burdened, and heal those who are broken.

Lord, we lay down our fears and anxieties at Your feet, and we rise up with renewed spirits, ready to proclaim Your goodness and grace. As we rest tonight, may we be rejuvenated by Your Holy Spirit, and wake renewed, ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges that await.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring peace and reflection to your evening.
