Praying the Scriptures

Tuesday Evening Prayer

September 17, 2024

They were astounded beyond measure, saying, “He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.” (Mark 7:37)

Gracious and Loving God,

As the day fades into night, we come before You in awe, amazed by Your boundless power and endless compassion. Just as those who witnessed the works of Jesus were astounded, we, too, stand in wonder at all You have done and continue to do in our lives.

You, O Lord, have done all things well. You open the ears of the deaf and give voice to the mute. In Your mercy, You heal the broken, restore the weary, and bring hope to the hopeless.

This evening, we lift to You our burdens and our cares, trusting that You hear even the silent cries of our hearts. We ask that You open our ears to hear Your truth more clearly, and loosen our tongues to speak words of love, kindness, and grace.

As we prepare for rest, fill our hearts with peace. Let us reflect on Your goodness and the many ways You have provided for us today. May we rest in the assurance that tomorrow is held securely in Your hands, and may we awake renewed, ready to serve You in all things.

We offer this prayer in the name of Jesus, who has done all things well.

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and comfort this evening.
