Thursday Evening Prayer
September 19, 2024
You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine, but you shall be for me a priestly kingdom and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the Israelites. (Exodus 19:4–6)
Heavenly Father,
As we gather this evening under Your watchful care, we remember Your words to us, "You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself." Thank you, Lord, for carrying us through the trials of this day as on eagles' wings, bringing us safely to the sanctuary of this night.
Lord, You have called us to be Your treasured possession among all peoples. Help us to embrace that identity, knowing we are precious in Your sight. Let this truth settle in our hearts, bringing peace and joy even in our moments of uncertainty.
As we prepare to rest, remind us of Your covenant. Teach us to obey Your voice and keep Your commandments, that we may be Your holy nation, set apart for Your divine purposes. May our lives reflect Your goodness and mercy, inspiring others to seek Your face.
Guide us in the paths of righteousness, protect us through the night, and renew our spirits, that we may serve You faithfully tomorrow as today.
In Your holy and precious name, we pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and comfort as you end your day.
