Praying the Scriptures

Thursday Morning Prayer

September 19, 2024

You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine, but you shall be for me a priestly kingdom and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the Israelites. (Exodus 19:4–6)

Heavenly Father,

As we rise to meet the day, we remember Your words to us through Moses on Mount Sinai, where You reminded Your people of Your mighty deliverance, carrying them on eagles' wings and bringing them to Yourself.

Today, we, too, acknowledge Your sovereign grace in our lives. You have lifted us above trials and carried us through storms, setting us apart as Your treasured possession among all peoples. For this gift of divine selection and protection, our hearts pour out gratitude.

Lord, as we prepare to engage with the world, let us not forget the covenant You have offered us, which calls us to obedience and devotion. Help us to live as a holy nation, a kingdom of priests who serve You faithfully and represent Your kingdom on earth.

Guide our thoughts, guard our hearts, and lead our actions to align with Your will. May we be a reflection of Your love and grace to all around us, as we strive to keep Your statutes and walk in Your precepts.

Bless this day, protect us under Your wings, and use us for Your glory. We are Yours, O God.

In Your holy name, we pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for your day.
