Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
September 6, 2024
But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.” (Mark 10:14–15)
Heavenly Father,
As we begin this new day, we come before You with open hearts, eager to receive Your blessings and guidance. Just as Jesus welcomed the little children, saying, "Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs," we pray for the grace to approach You with the innocence and faith of a child.
Lord, teach us to trust in You wholeheartedly, to surrender our doubts and fears, and to embrace Your love with pure and humble spirits. May we enter this day with the same wonder and joy that children have, knowing that we are deeply loved by You.
Help us to be like children in our openness, in our ability to forgive, and in our desire to learn and grow in Your ways. Grant us the courage to let go of our pride and self-reliance, and to lean fully on Your strength and wisdom.
As we move through this day, let us remember that the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like children—those who come to You in faith, trust, and humility. May we live today with hearts full of love, compassion, and a deep desire to reflect Your light in all that we do.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for the day ahead.
