Praying the Scriptures

Monday Morning Prayer

September 23, 2024

Therefore it is said, “When he ascended on high he made captivity itself a captive; he gave gifts to his people.” (Ephesians 4:8)

Heavenly Father,

As we rise to greet this new day, we remember Your words through the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 4:8, "When he ascended on high he made captivity itself a captive; he gave gifts to his people."

Lord, we thank You for Your son, Jesus Christ, who ascended on high, liberating us from the captivity of sin and gifting us with Your Holy Spirit. May we embrace these gifts with gratitude and steward them wisely, contributing to the unity and growth of Your Church.

Guide us today, that we might use our talents and gifts to uplift others and glorify Your name. Help us to walk in humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in love, striving to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Bless our endeavors, conversations, and thoughts, making them pleasing to You. As You have called each of us to a unique purpose, equip us to fulfill it with courage and strength.

In the name of Jesus, we pray,

Amen.

May this prayer center your day on the gifts and calling from the Lord.
