Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Morning Prayer

September 14, 2024

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, “Know the Lord,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more. (Jeremiah 31:33–34)

Gracious and Eternal God,

As the morning light breaks forth, we stand in awe of Your unfailing love and mercy. You have written Your law upon our hearts, not in tablets of stone, but in the depths of our souls. We praise You for this new covenant, where we no longer need to be taught to know You, for You have made Yourself known to each of us.

Help us, O Lord, to live this day in the fullness of Your promise. Remind us, even in our weakness, that You are our God, and we are Your people. Cleanse us from all that separates us from You, for You have promised to remember our sins no more. Let this truth fill us with hope and courage as we walk in the light of Your forgiveness.

May Your Spirit guide us in all we do today, writing Your will on our hearts and minds. Teach us to love as You have loved us, to forgive as we have been forgiven, and to share the good news of Your grace with everyone we meet.

In the name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer,

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
