Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Morning Prayer

September 21, 2024

On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’” (John 7:37–38)

Heavenly Father,

In the quiet of this morning, we come before You, thirsty for Your living water. Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, called all who are weary and burdened to come to Him, promising that from their hearts shall flow rivers of living water.

We ask, O Lord, that You fill us anew with Your Holy Spirit. Let Your wisdom, peace, and love flow within us so that we might not only be sustained but also become vessels through which Your grace flows into the lives of others.

As the sun rises, bringing light to the world, let Your light shine in us and through us, dispelling darkness and bringing hope to those in need. May our words, actions, and thoughts reflect Your mercy and love today.

Guide us in our journeys, keep us steadfast in our faith, and help us to draw ever closer to You. For You are the source of life, the giver of all good things, and in You, our souls find rest and refreshment.

In the name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
