Praying the Scriptures

Tuesday Morning Prayer

September 24, 2024

Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (John 12:24–25)

Heavenly Father,

In the quiet of this morning, we come before You, drawing inspiration from Your words in John 12:24-25, where Jesus speaks of the grain of wheat that must fall to the earth and die to produce much fruit. Help us to understand the depth of this truth—that in losing our lives for Your sake, we find the true essence of life eternal.

Lord, grant us the courage to let go of our selfish desires and earthly attachments. Teach us to serve others selflessly, knowing that it is through surrendering our lives that we gain the richness of Your kingdom. May our actions today reflect the sacrifice of the grain that falls; may we die to ourselves so that Your love can live through us, reaching out to touch the lives of others.

As we start our day, infuse us with Your spirit of generosity and compassion. Guide our steps so that we might walk in the path of Christ, who showed ultimate love and humility. Help us to be mindful not only of our needs but also of those around us, especially the least, the lost, and the lonely.

Thank you for the promise of fruitfulness that comes from a life lived in dedication to You. May our lives be a testament to the transformative power of Your love.

In Jesus’ name, we pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and guidance as you start your day.
