Praying the Scriptures

Wednesday Morning Prayer

September 25, 2024

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.… And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.” (Revelation 21:1, 5)

Heavenly Father, Creator of all things new,

This morning, as the dawn breaks and ushers in a fresh day, we remember Your promise: "A new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more." Let this vision of renewal guide us through our day.

Lord, You who sit upon the throne have declared, "See, I am making all things new." Instill in us a spirit of hope and transformation. As You renew the cosmos, renew our hearts. Help us to see the beauty in beginnings and the grace in endings, trusting that in every change, there is a purpose under Your sovereign hand.

Guide our steps to be agents of Your love, bearers of Your truth, and creators of peace. Where there is despair, let us bring Your light; where there is weariness, let us bring Your strength. May our words echo Your promise and our actions reflect Your unending love.

As we face the challenges and blessings of this day, keep us mindful of the eternal home You are preparing for us, where tears, death, mourning, crying, and pain will be no more. Until then, let us cherish and steward the world You have entrusted to us, ever anticipating the complete fulfillment of Your kingdom.

In the name of Jesus, who makes all things new, we pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you strength and encouragement as you go about your day!
