Praying the Scriptures

Wednesday Evening Prayer

October 9, 2024

Those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: “Great and amazing are your deeds, Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, King of the nations! Lord, who will not fear and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your judgments have been revealed.” (Revelation 15:2b–4)

Heavenly Father,

On this serene October evening, as the leaves display their autumn hues and the air carries a gentle chill, my heart reaches out to You in prayer, inspired by the wondrous vision shared in Revelation.

I envision, O Lord, the sea of glass mingled with fire, standing before You with those who have conquered the beast and its image, their hearts steadfast in Your truth. Holding harps given by You, they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb:

"Great and amazing are Your deeds, Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, King of the nations! Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been revealed."

As the night envelops the world in its embrace, I reflect on these divine truths. Your deeds are indeed great and amazing, Your ways just and true. In awe of Your holiness, I join the chorus of the faithful, expressing my reverence and adoration.

Guide me, O God, to walk in Your righteous paths, that I might fear Your name and glorify You in all that I do. Strengthen my spirit, that I may remain steadfast and conquer any challenges that come my way, just as the saints before me have done through Your grace.

May all nations come to recognize Your majesty and worship at Your feet, for Your justice and mercy encompass the earth. As the days grow shorter and the nights longer, let Your light shine ever brighter within us, guiding our way.

In Your holy and precious name, I pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you comfort and strength as you reflect on God's promises this evening.
