Friday Morning Prayer

October 4, 2024

Then looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” And immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. (Mark 7:34–35)

Heavenly Father,

On this tranquil Friday morning, we pause to reflect on Your divine intervention, as depicted in Mark's Gospel, where You looked to heaven and sighed deeply, saying, "Ephphatha," which means, "Be opened."

With humble hearts, we ask You to open our ears so that we might hear Your voice above the noise of our daily routines. Open our eyes to see the needs of those around us and the beauty of Your creation. Open our hands to give generously and serve those in need. Open our minds to understand Your teachings and discern Your will. And, most importantly, open our hearts to receive the fullness of Your love and to share it with others.

As You graciously restored the hearing and speech of the man brought to You, restore us, Lord. Heal our spiritual infirmities and equip us to proclaim Your praises clearly and fearlessly.

Bless this day, guide our actions and words, and draw us closer to You. Through Your grace, may we walk in the freedom of Your Spirit, opened and renewed.

In Jesus' name, we pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for the day ahead.
