Praying the Scriptures

Monday Morning Prayer

October 14, 2024

Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his faithful, to those who turn to him in their hearts. Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land. (Psalm 85:8–9)

Heavenly Father,

As I welcome the dawn of this new week, I seek to hear what You, Lord, will speak, For You speak peace to Your faithful people, to those who turn their hearts to You. In the quiet of this October morning, with leaves gently tumbling in Your breeze, Help me to listen—not just with my ears, but with my spirit.

Let me not return to foolish ways, but let Your salvation be near to those who fear You, That Your glory may dwell in our land—this land You've painted with autumn’s vibrant hues. Merge steadfast love and faithfulness in me; let righteousness and peace kiss through my actions.

As I step forward into this week, guide my steps in Your paths, That I may walk in the peace of Your presence, and reflect Your love and truth in all I do. Grant me the courage to embody Your peace, which You so freely offer.

In Your holy name, I pray,

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and strength as you start your day.
