A Word With You - Why Rocky Always Wins

Why Rocky Always Wins

Forward this to a friend

Not long ago I got to take one of my favorite East Coast walks. You know, growing up in Illinois, I didn't know much about the ocean. So when we moved to New Jersey, I quickly developed a pretty deep love for the ocean. So it's no surprise that Ocean City is one of my favorite places to go, right? And I love to walk out on the long, rock jetties that reach out into the sea from the beach. I really love it at high tide when the surf's crashing in around those rocks. When you see some of those monster waves surging toward those rocks, it looks like there's going to be a classic confrontation between the irresistible force (the ocean) and the immovable object (the rocks). Well, I'll tell you, the ocean sure overwhelms everything else in its way. But every time those rocks I stand on meet the mighty power of the sea, the winner is always the same. The wave is shattered. The rock remains.

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Why Rocky Always Wins."

Our word for today from the Word of God is about heavy surf-a list of some of the powerful waves that come crashing into all our lives. In 2 Corinthians 6:4-5, Paul says, "As servants of God, we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger."

Paul is describing here three terrible trios-monster waves that overwhelm many people. The first terrible trio is troubles, hardships (by the way, the word in the original Greek is "calamities"), and distresses (the Greek is literally "narrow straits" where you're feeling really boxed in). Secondly, there are beatings (obviously, that means physical attacks), imprisonments (maybe those times in your life when you feel confined), riots (which, for us, can apply to times when it seems everyone's turning against you). Finally, Paul points out the waves of hard work, sleepless nights, and hunger.

Got any waves like that beating on you? Well, you'll be encouraged with how Paul demonstrated how to handle them. He starts this hammering list with the words "in great endurance." That means perseverance and steadfastness. In fact, the root of the word here is the word for "staying where you are." Paul's says, "I'm not going anywhere. I'm taking my stand and nothing can move me." He says it is possible to be hit by high tide after high tide and still be the rock that is unmoved.

If you know Christ, you have in Him the power to be a rock-person just like Paul. Remember, the rock smashes the wave; the wave doesn't smash the rock! In football, they'll talk about whether or not a player can take a hit. Well, Paul could-and so can you-if you're drawing on the same stabilizing source of endurance.

Listen for it in 2 Corinthians 1:8-9. Paul says, "We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God." Now that's it - right there - the secret of endurance when yours is gone-relying on your God. That means meeting intimately with Him each new day and getting a daily refill of His strength, and experiencing His renewing presence.

There's no guarantee you won't be hit by heavy seas - or even hurt by heavy seas. But as long as you are God's servant, drawing deeply on His strength, you will never be moved by heavy seas. Is it high tide for you right now? Maybe even storm tide? Well, you're going to make it! Because in Philippians 4:13 it says, "You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength." And the promise of Romans 8:37, "In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."

After the waves have finished their battering and the tide has receded, you'll still be there-only stronger than ever. In Christ, you're a rock-and remember, the rock always smashes the waves!

Ron Hutchcraft - Your Life's Most Memorable Legacy

Your Life's Most Memorable Legacy

Forward this to a friend

Ronald Reagan led one of the most extraordinary lives of the 20th Century-a life which he sadly and progressively forgot in the last years of his life. His long battle with Alzheimer's Disease acted like a cruel eraser. It removed recollections of what he had done and even who he was. After Ronald Reagan's death, we learned a lot more about what happened during his long journey into darkness. Memory of his years in Hollywood just disappeared, and then he couldn't remember being Governor of California, and ultimately he lost all that had happened in his years as being President of the United States. But one memory stayed alive almost until the end. In the office that Nancy Reagan set up for him, there was a picture on the wall; it was a picture of the Rock River in Illinois. When visitors would ask him about it, after most of his life was there no more, he would brighten and he'd say, "Oh, that's where I was a lifeguard when I was 17. That's where I saved 77 lives!"

I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and I want to have A Word With You today about "Your Life's Most Memorable Legacy."

After all was said and done, the one thing Ronald Reagan could remember about his life was the lives he saved. But then, there's nothing about your life that's more worth remembering. No matter how many or how few, no matter how large or how small your life accomplishments have been, that's your greatest legacy. There's nothing more heroic, there's nothing more meaningful than being someone's difference between life and death-especially if it's eternal life or death.

Our word for today from the Word of God in Proverbs 11:30 tells us what the legacy of your life and mine ought to be. God says, "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise." What you should have to show for the one life you've lived is a trail of life-people whose souls you have helped move from sin's death penalty to the eternal life that can only be found at Jesus' cross.

There's a stretch of beach that God has assigned to each of us who belongs to Him. There's a stretch of beach where He's assigned you to be His lifeguard-the one who's responsible to do all you can to rescue the people around you who will die spiritually unless someone helps them get to Jesus. You may be looking around and saying, "Me? Surely God must have someone better than me to help these people get to heaven?"

Stop looking around. You're the one He's put in their lives. Not some highly trained spiritual professional, not some professional God salesman, not someone with a more outgoing personality, not someone who's got it more together than you have. Your Savior decided you were the person they needed as their link to Him.

Look, if you're like most of us, your fear has kept you from actively trying to introduce them to Jesus. Fear is actually from one thing: it's all about me. It's focusing on ourselves-how I'm going to look, what they'll think about me-instead of focusing on what might happen to them if we don't try to tell them.

Maybe you've been preoccupied with goals and accomplishments that won't even last for your lifetime, let alone forever. But God says those who lead many to righteousness will "shine like the stars forever and ever" (Daniel 12:3). People in heaven because you cared-there's nothing you can do in this life that can even come close to that as a legacy. Lives saved forever.

The place where you work, the activities you're involved in, the school you attend, the neighborhood you live in, the people who keep showing up in your life; they are the lives at stake on your stretch of the beach. Don't fail the Savior who died for them by letting them live and die without Him because of your silence. Don't fail them by not showing them the difference Jesus makes; by not telling them what Jesus did for them on the cross.

See, you are their chance at Jesus. You're their chance at heaven.

Ron Hutchcraft - Simplifying Your Journey

Simplifying Your Journey

Forward this devotion to a friend

During one summer with our "On Eagles' Wings" Native American outreach team, we had some 5,000 miles to cover in about five weeks. In order to make it to all the reservations to which we had accepted invitations, we needed a comfortable bus. And God wonderfully provided that through some brothers in Christ. Now our bus driver, Josh, really knew his way across the West, and my wife Karen really didn't. It was often her job to drive another vehicle that we needed. That meant traveling many unfamiliar miles, but she found a way to simplify the process. She just kept her eyes on that bus. If Josh turned, she turned. If Josh stopped, she stopped. She made sure she could even recognize the lights of his bus in case they got separated. Karen said this trip that could have been so difficult and confusing turned out to be pretty relaxed and simple. She didn't try to figure out the route for herself. She had a great trip because one thing governed all her choices-following the man who knew the way.

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Simplifying Your Journey."

Our word for today from the Word of God comes from John 10:3-4. "The sheep listen to (the shepherd's) voice. He calls His own sheep by name and He leads them out. When He has brought out all His own, He goes ahead of them". That one verse, "He puts His sheep out, He goes ahead of them" has been an anchor for Karen and me over and over as we have moved into unfamiliar or difficult territory in our life. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is leading us this direction; He's traveling this road ahead of us, and He knows where He's going.

And what do smart sheep do? They try to figure out where they're going to find some good pasture, or they try to figure out which road is safe and which one is dangerous, or move in the direction that looks best to them? No, smart sheep don't do that. No, they do what my wife did traveling in that unfamiliar territory out West. They quit trying to figure it out for themselves and they follow the One who knows every mile in the road! John 10:27, "My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me."

Maybe you've been trying to fix things yourself, control things, manipulate things. What a great way to get lost and confused-and to miss your destination. Jesus' most fundamental command is simply, "Follow Me." Are you? That's more than going to His meetings or believing His beliefs, or doing His work, or keeping His rules. We're talking about how you determine which way you're going to go in the decisions that really matter in your life.

You might say, "Well, following a bus is one thing, but how do I follow Jesus? How do I know which way He's going?" Good question. Good answer in Psalm 119:105. "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." He shows you what step to take next as you begin each day with His Book, the Bible, asking, "Lord, what's Your word for me today?"

His answer might be to show you verses that focus on one specific part of you and your life.

Whatever that verse lights up, you make that your conscious assignment for that day to do that part of you Jesus' way. You apply that verse to something you will face today. "Lord, what can I apply this to? What am I doing to do differently today because of what you've said?" Through the accumulation of those daily obediences, God will lead you on the path to His larger will. Because His macro will is the sum of a lot of micro wills that you do each day. The right you will make the right choices.

The Spirit of God uses the applied Word of God to lead the child of God to the will of God. So your job is much the same as my wife's was on her journey into new territory-find out where your Leader is going and just get behind Him and go there. Speed up when He speeds up. Stop when He stops. Turn when He turns.

You wouldn't believe the freedom and relief it is to realize you don't have to figure this all out any more. Following Jesus sure simplifies your journey. Oh, and by the way, guarantees you'll reach your destination.

Ron Hutchcraft - Missing Your Meaning

Missing Your Meaning

Tall grass-dead mower. That was my sad situation last spring. I tried everything to get my power mower going, but it really didn't want to start. Of course, that didn't stop the lawn from growing, no. I went away for a little while, came back, and the grass was now taking over. (Get your machete, Ron.) Well, I played with my mower again and again, and it still didn't respond. We were starting to look like maybe the set of a "Tarzan" movie. And my mower, oh it didn't care. So I started looking for alternative equipment to get the job done. Let's see, my hair clippers. Yeah, how about that uh...the ones you use for your haircuts? I was desperate, but I did not try to cut the grass with my hair clippers. No, they work great on hair; they would not work great on my lawn. But, on the other hand, how would you like to get your hair cut with a lawn mower?

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Missing Your Meaning."

You say, "Ron, what's that all about?" Well, you'd have to wonder about someone who tried to use hair clippers to trim a lawn or a lawn mower to trim hair. They both work fine when you use them as they were supposed to be used. But machines don't work when you use them for something they weren't designed for and neither do we.

And right there is the reason so many of us are wondering what the meaning of our life really is; why we still don't know the answer to life's most fundamental question "Why am I here?" We're missing what we were designed for and things just don't seem to be working. Even people who are enjoying a lot of success, whose life is pretty smooth, have to admit that in their honest moments it's still not very fulfilling. The meaning just isn't there. The peace isn't there. And when we're not living like we were designed to, things just don't work very well. Marriage doesn't work like it's supposed to, relationships don't, even our achievements. There's never enough love, never enough excitement, and never any real peace.

Time to break out the Manufacturer's instructions. Of course I mean the Manufacturer of you and me. Here's how your Creator says you were designed to live. Put your life next to this blueprint and see how you're doing. It's in our word for today from the Word of God in Colossians 1:16. Speaking of Jesus Christ, God says, "All things were created by Him and for Him."

There's your created destiny in six words, "Created by Jesus and for Jesus." Like the earth was created to revolve around the sun, you and I were created to revolve our life around the One who made us, but we don't. The reality is more like this: "Created for Him-living for me. In the Bible's words, "Each of us has turned to his own way" (Isaiah 53:6).

If you're missing the meaning of it all, it's because you're missing the One who gives life meaning; the One who gave you your life in the first place and the One who gave His life so you could get back to your Creator. Jesus died on the cross to pay the death penalty for all of your "me first" choices so that Grand Canyon between you and God could finally be bridged. So you could finally know the peace of being who you were made to be-of belonging to the One whose love you were made for.

Maybe you're ready to begin this awesome personal relationship with your Creator God. It's like coming home. If you'd like to, why don't you tell Jesus that right now? Tell Him you're putting all your trust in Him to be your rescuer from your sin, because only He died to forgive it. And only He had the power to walk out of His grave under His own power.

I would really be honored to be able to help you on this most important day to understand exactly how to get started with Jesus. That's why our website's there. I invite you to go to ANewStory.com, because I think it could be the beginning of a new story for you.

You've done enough days without the meaning you were made for haven't you; without the Savior you were made for? If you'll open your heart, you have just spent your last day without Him.

Dangerously Blind

Dangerously Blind

New York City is a bit of a shock to any first-time visitor. It's especially jarring for someone who has spent her whole life on an Indian Reservation. Now, Linda was from the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and she was part of our ministry's Native American Youth Outreach Team that we call "On Eagle's Wings." She was able to see New York from a distance at first. There's the Empire State Building, there's the skyline, and she said she wanted to see it all up close. Ha! Well, that may have changed now that she has seen it up close. See, she went in with us when I spoke in the city one night and the traffic and the crowds; man, they were all over the place and they made her feel like maybe she was on a battlefield without a helmet. She also found certain aspects of the city exciting and she might go back. But as our team was driving along the Hudson River, we were headed for the George Washington Bridge and Linda must have been reflecting on her life on the reservation for a minute because she just looked up into the Big Apple sky and she just said two words, "No stars."

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Dangerously Blind."

Our word for today from the Word of God comes from 2 Corinthians 4:4. It's a very revealing statement from God's perspective. "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God." Basically, what's this saying? There is heavenly light that God wants you to see. It's the Good News of the glory of His Son, Jesus Christ. And what's the Good News? Jesus loves you very much. He proved it by paying the sin penalty that you deserved when He died on the cross. He demonstrated His unbeatable power when He blew the doors off His grave and rose from the dead, and so Jesus is all the love, and all the meaning, and all the peace you've been looking for all these years.

But there's a problems with God's light. It's the same problem our Navajo friend had seeing those stars in New York City. The earth lights blinded her to the heavenly light. When that happens to people spiritually, they can literally miss Jesus and miss God's love, and miss heaven forever.

This says that the god of this world, who is the devil, has blinded our minds. We're surrounded by a lot of earth lights that blind us to the much brighter light of God. We're blinded by the lights of making money, or having fun, or important relationships, or busy schedules, even our religion. And we just keep ignoring Jesus, or postponing Jesus, or forgetting Jesus. We're blinded.

The devil, whose goal it is to destroy you, will use anything or anyone he can to keep you from seeing and following Jesus. His intention is very simple; to block your view of the real light until you've passed the point of no return. But today, maybe right now, the light is breaking through.

This could be your God day. You could tell Him right where you are, "Lord, I have run my life long enough. You are supposed to run my life. You gave it to me, and I'm tired of this sin wall that's been between us. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ, died to take that wall away to pay for my sin. And beginning this moment, Jesus, I'm Yours." I hope you'll take that step so you can be sure you belong to Him and secure your eternity once and for all.

That's what our website's there for. It's ANewStory.com. And it would be a great place to anchor to as you cross over (as the Bible says) "from death to life" today. I hope you'll go there. Check it out as soon as you can today.

For this moment, God has taken you away from the blinding light of all that earth stuff and all those earth people so you could get one clear look at the light of Jesus Christ. Now in the words of the Bible, "Seek the Lord while He may be found."

The Souvenirs Of Sin

The Souvenirs Of Sin

If you grew up on a farm, there's probably a dog in your memories. For my farm girl, Karen, that dog was a Collie cattle dog named King. King was great at rounding up her Dad's cattle. All Dad would have to do was to whistle that certain whistle, and King would start circling and circling those cattle until he herded them in. But there was a problem. One day a chicken got out, and King killed that chicken-which gave that valuable dog the taste of blood. They tell me if you can't cure that in a dog, you can't afford to keep that dog. The dog either has to be killed or disciplined so he'll never forget. So Dad took that dead chicken (now, get this) tied its legs around King's neck with some twine. Needless to say, this dog tried everything to shake that dead chicken, but as the day wore on, the bird he killed did not improve with age. No, by the end of the day, King's head and tail were hanging very low. Look, it's a painful way to learn the seriousness of what he had done, but not nearly as painful as the alternative.

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "The Souvenirs of Sin."

If you have to carry some of the consequences of what you've done wrong, it can be powerful incentive not to do it again-which can save you from consequences that will be far worse. Now that's why God sometimes allows you and me to experience some unpleasant results of our sin. It's not that He didn't forgive us or that He doesn't love us. It's actually because He does.

God had great plans for Jacob-among other things, he would father the fathers of twelve tribes of Israel. But all his life this stubborn, self-willed, survival-oriented man had been wrestling with God for the control of his life. And then came the final wrestling match. Our word for today from the Word of God, Genesis 32:24, "Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man."

Eventually, Jacob realizes who he's been wrestling with that night-and all these years. The Bible says, "Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, 'It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared...He was limping (the Bible says) because of his hip" (Genesis 32:30-31). As far as we know, Jacob walked with a painful limp for the rest of his life. Was he right with God? Well, he asked for God's blessing that night, and God changed his name from Jacob, the cheat-to Israel, which means prince with God.

But even though it seems Jacob had made his peace with God, he was like that Collie, King. In essence, he carried the dead chicken around with him the rest of his life to remind him of how much it hurts to be self-willed and stubborn and manipulative. It wasn't that my father-in-law didn't value that dog of his-he did value the dog. That's why he made him live with those consequences, because the alternative was destruction.

That may be why God has allowed you to continue to experience some of the scars and pain and consequences of your sin. If you have brought that sin to Jesus' cross in true repentance, God promises He will "remember that sin no more" (Hebrews 8:12). Isn't that awesome? You are forgiven, you are clean, your sin is forever covered by the blood that Jesus shed for it. But God doesn't ever want you to go back where you were. So maybe today there are still the memories, the regrets, some of the brokenness, those scars. God has left you with that aftermath so you will be protected by those consequences from ever doing it again. You won't forget how much it hurts. You won't forget how much it costs.

It's another dimension of that same grace that forgave you and cleansed you. It's God's keeping grace; enough pain from the past to keep you from ever going back to what would destroy you. Sometimes God in His grace saves us from the consequences of our sin and sometimes He leaves the consequences there. Either way, it's His love.

The Decisive Difference

The Decisive Difference

Occasionally I see this bumper sticker that says, "I brake for antique shops." I'm not a bumper sticker guy, but I think we would qualify for that over the years, depending on who was driving-my wife or me. If it was my wife, we were a lot more likely to break for an antique shop. But my wife was not so much into collecting old stuff, it was more about finding items that she had as a girl growing up on a farm that had very few modern conveniences. And she had an eye for what was real and what was just a reproduction: Depression Glass, pottery, butter churns, even old violins. Take the famous Stradivarius violin. You know, there are relatively few originals. There are a lot of copies.

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "The Decisive Difference."

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between what's real and what's a copy in antiques and in people; especially people who claim that they belong to Jesus Christ.

Jesus described both the real ones and the copies in the story He told in Matthew 13, beginning in verse 24. It's our word for today from the Word of God. He said, "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared." Jesus said the man's servants wanted to go out and pull up the weeds, but he stopped them. "'No', He answered, 'because while you are pulling out the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'"

When Jesus explained His parable later, He made clear that the wheat represents those who really do belong to Him, and the weeds; they represent those who look like they belong to Him, but they don't. That's a pretty sobering thought-sitting next to one another in church may be two people who are singing the same songs, believing the same beliefs, saying the same words, but one is headed for heaven and the other is headed for hell. And no one on earth can tell the difference. But on Judgment Day it will be very clear who was real and who was the look-alike. That's why God says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith."

For some of us church folks, the business of being a Christian is really more of a religion, or a performance, or maybe a belief, or a script where we've got all the right words. You can have all that and you can miss what this is all really about; a deep love personal relationship with Jesus Christ based on His dying for your sins. It is a relationship you can only begin one way. You begin it the day you tell Him you are putting your total trust in Him, consciously giving all of you to Him. With all your Christianity, it's possible you've missed Christ, even though everyone around you thinks you know Him. That's everyone except Jesus.

It's very hard to admit that you've never really given yourself to Him, but it's fatal not to. So would you let this be the day that you finally, consciously and clearly make Jesus Christ your personal Savior from your personal sin. Tell Him, "Jesus, I want to know you for real. I'm pinning all my hopes on You like a drowning person would grab a rescuer."

Then go to our website and check that out. Because there you will find the information you need to secure your relationship with Christ and know for sure you've got Him in your life and in your heart and in your future. Our website - ANewStory.com. Would you go there today?

There's all the difference in the world between someone who really belongs to Jesus and someone who just looks like they do. It's actually the difference between heaven and hell.

A Word with You - God All Over Your Day

God All Over Your Day

When I'm on the road and staying in a motel, I'm often leaving pretty early that day for the responsibilities I have. But by the time I return late that night, something amazing has happened. The bed is made and I didn't make it! I've got new, clean towels! I didn't find them. Everything's straightened and neat. I even get these cool little soaps now that are in the bathroom! The Room Fairy has been there! Now, I know that not because I've seen the maid (actually I haven't), but because I can see the results of her work all over the place.

I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "God All Over Your Day."

He is, you know. It's not unlike that maid scenario. You may not see the one who made the difference, but you can sure see the difference that He made, if you're looking for it.

If you've ever been to one of those church meetings where they ask people to share their favorite verses, you've probably heard somebody mention our word for today from the Word of God. It's a lot of people's favorite verse. Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Notice what's the opposite of trusting in the Lord with all your heart: trying to figure it out for yourself, doing what you think is best - leaning on your own understanding.

Now comes a formula for finding out what God wants you to do in any given situation. Well, we need that. Verse 6 says, "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." Now, God says, "If you want to know My heart for you, acknowledge Me in every situation you're in." You know what acknowledge means. Have you ever been in a new place or a roomful of people and you've gone totally un-greeted, un-noticed? Well, you were saying to yourself, "Hey, I wish someone would acknowledge me. I wish someone would notice I'm here." See, God knows that feeling. He shows up all through our day, and we often never notice Him. We don't acknowledge Him.

The other day I was really blessed in a place not normally associated with blessing-the dentist's office. I was in the waiting room and I saw an old friend with his wife-they're both in their 90's. He's working very hard to care for his wife because her health is deteriorating. Because it had been raining when they came in, my friend asked the dentist if he could help him get his wife out to the car. My dentist came back in, really touched by what had happened in those two minutes-so touched that he brought it up two more times. He said, "When I went out with George and his wife, it wasn't raining. And George said, 'Isn't it great that the Lord stopped the rain long enough for us to get out to the car?' Then he just looked heavenward and said, 'Thanks, Father.'"

Now that's acknowledging Him. That's noticing God's working in the details of your day. And that's where praise comes from, where joy comes from, where a victorious attitude comes from in the toughest of times. But you have to go into your day looking for God at work. If you don't, you'll miss God and you'll miss the joy. But if you do train your heart to go on a daily God-hunt (God-sightings, you know), you'll experience what the great preacher Charles Spurgeon talked about when he said, "He who looks for providences (or God-actions) will never lack a providence to observe."

If you haven't been seeing God a lot lately, it's because you haven't been looking. You may have been focused on your circumstances, or other people, or yourself or what's stressing you out. You've missed the fingerprints of God all over your day. The little mercies, the small miracles, the interventions, the protection, the encouraging surprises, the bad things that didn't happen. I know there's never a day where He doesn't show up because the Bible says His "mercies are new every morning!"

In those transformed motel rooms, I seldom see the maid, but I see the results of her work. In the little and big moments of your day, you may not see God, but you can see the results of His work on your behalf because you're His much-loved child. You'll see God all over your day if you're looking for Him.
