Morning Devotions with Cap'n Kenny - Encouragement For The Soul

“...for He (God) Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. (I will) not, (I will) not, (I will) not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let (you) down (relax My hold on you)! (Assuredly not!)”
~ Hebrews 13:5b (AMP)

Our LORD will never desert His people under any circumstance they may encounter in this tumultuous world. Whatever you may be facing today (or tomorrow), He is always with you to guide you and strengthen you. He is your helper.

Dr. David Wilkerson once stated: “Expect help from no other source (God). He alone must be your provision, your only hope and defense. Only He can supply you with the strength to keep going...”.

The Book of Psalms contain many encouraging verses that were written by the Psalmist David and other believers as they rose above the pits of discouragement, hopelessness, and despair to new pinnacles of their relationship with God. They learned to praise and trust in His justice, and power. For example, if they were up against enemies; they asked God to deliver them. They also acknowledged Him as their Shepherd.

Psalmist David ascertained a lot more about God through the events and trials throughout his life. The same goes for believers today. In Psalm 138 David learned that God answered him, and gave him encouragement by giving him strength. In Psalm 32 he learned that the LORD would advise and guide him along the “best pathway” for his life, and He would watch over him. In Psalm 37 he learned that the LORD would take care of the godly people, and “though they stumble they will never fall” because He “holds them by the hand”.

In Psalm 62, the Psalm is often times referred to as the prayer that touched God's heart. David had learned to wait quietly before God as he had placed his hope in Him. He had found that God was his place of safety and refuge from his enemies.

Oswald Chambers stated: “God does not give us overcoming life: He gives us life as we overcome...The temptation is to face difficulties from a common-sense standpoint.”. As God's people, rely on God's constant help. Seek His reinforcement and strength in the Bible. God's Word will trigger within your soul a reason to rejoice as you receive His encouragement within your soul. The Word will assist you to get through whatever trial, disappointment, or health challenge you may be encountering. He “will not leave you without (any) support”.
Lord God, thank You for Your encouragement in the Bible. Help us to seek You every day. Amen
In Jesus,
Cap'n Kenny
