Pray Constantly
“Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.”

Unlike Elijah, oftentimes many people when asked to pray for another person, or for a particular situation, mentally make the decision that their own faith is not worthy enough to receive an answer. There are also people who perceive prayer as their last resort when all else fails.
In “Our Daily Bread”, M. R. De Haan, M.D. wrote a story demonstrating how important prayer is. The story went like this: A boy named Danny “was saved from drowning by his brother and carried home unconscious by his group of friends. The father wanted to reward them and said to John...What did you do? And John replied...I jumped in and pulled him out. He received a good reward. And James and Thomas, what did you do? We carried Danny home. You did well too, said the father, here is a reward for you. And Mary what did you do? Mary was only three years old, and she burst into tears and said, Daddy...I couldn't do anything at all--so I just prayed and prayed. What a surprise for Mary it was when father said...You deserve the best reward of all, for you did all you could and God answered your prayers through John and James and Thomas.”
For God's people, the most powerful resource is their spiritual union with God through prayer. His people can be assured that He will listen to their prayers “that if we ask anything according to his will” (I John 5:14).
The Book of James states: “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results”. The spontaneous and earnest prayer of Mary, the three year old, was understandably passionate when she “prayed and prayed” for her brother Danny. Her prayers brought wonderful results.
What is prayer? Prayer is an expression of an intimate relationship with God. Elijah, and Mary the three year old, as they prayed they showed their great hope and confidence in the power of God. Their prayers were effective and demonstrated how devoted and emotionally involved they were with God.
In adverse circumstances do not stop praying. Be encouraged and continue in faith, and keep pressing on in God's counsel (The Holy Bible), and prize His wisdom. II Corinthians 5:7 states: “For we live by faith, not by sight”. Prayer is powerful, and keep believing in Almighty God for the answers to your prayers. God does not always work according to your time schedule, but He does hear and answer prayer.
Father, I give You all the glory and praise that is due to Your great name. You are so faithful. Thank You, Lord, for answered prayers and for granting me the desires of my heart today. Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth, and let there be continued peace within my heart and life. Thank You for the precious gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
