The Morning Prayer for Thursday, September 21, 2023

The Morning Prayer
Thursday, September 21, 2023

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."
John 7:37–38 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, Creator of the morning light and the Source of living water, we come before You this morning to seek Your presence in our lives. We thank You for another day, another chance to know You, to serve You, and to be instruments of Your love in the world.

Lord Jesus, You stood up on that final festival day and proclaimed that anyone who is thirsty may come to You and drink. Today, we acknowledge our own thirst—thirst for wisdom, for love, for meaning, and for peace. We admit that we often look for these in places where they cannot be found. This morning, we come to You, the ultimate Source of all goodness and life.

Fill us with Your living water, Jesus. Let that water flow through the parched areas of our souls and quench our deepest desires with Your everlasting love. May this living water not only nourish us but also become a river flowing out from us, so that we may share Your love, peace, and hope with everyone we encounter today.

Enable us to truly believe in You, not just in word but in deed and in truth. May our belief be so rooted in You that living waters naturally flow from us, a manifestation of Your Spirit at work within us. May these living waters be a blessing to others and bring glory to Your name.

Thank You for being our source of spiritual nourishment and eternal life. We commit this day to You, asking for Your guidance, wisdom, and protection. Help us to walk in the path that You have set before us, mindful that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

In Your Holy Name we pray, Amen.
