The Morning Prayer
Wednesday, September 27, 2023

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the "gods" I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.
Psalm 138:1–2 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, as I wake up to a new day, I come before you with a heart full of gratitude and praise. Before all the 'gods' of this world—the idols of career, fame, and material things—I choose to sing Your praise alone. You are the Creator of each new morning, the Giver of life, and the One who sustains me in every season.

Lord, as I begin this day, I bow my heart toward Your holy presence, recognizing that it is Your unfailing love and faithfulness that sustain me. Your promises are true and unchanging, and for that reason, my trust in You is steadfast.

I thank You for Your Word, which is exalted above all else. Your decrees guide me, Your wisdom enlightens me, and Your love empowers me. As the sun rises, may it be a constant reminder of Your ever-rising love and faithfulness in my life.

Help me to walk in Your path, to keep my focus on You amidst the distractions of the day, and to represent You well in every interaction I have today. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I may reflect Your love and faithfulness to those around me.

In Jesus' Name, I pray, Amen.
