The Morning Prayer
Sunday, October 8, 2023

Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
2 Peter 3:17–18 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, I come before You this morning with a heart filled with gratitude and a soul yearning for Your guidance. Your Word reminds me that I have been forewarned about the errors and temptations that seek to pull me away from You. As I go about my day, I ask for the strength and wisdom to be on my guard against anything that would distract me from my relationship with You.

Lord, fill me with discernment to recognize the subtle influences that aim to lead me astray. Whether it’s the allure of materialism, the seduction of worldly philosophies, or the temptation to act out of selfishness rather than love, I pray that You fortify me against these challenges. May I stand firm in my secure position in Christ, protected by Your grace and strengthened by Your Spirit.

I also pray that today may be another step in my journey of spiritual growth. Help me to grow in both the grace and the knowledge of You, Lord Jesus. Open my eyes to the wonders of Your love, deepen my understanding of Your Word, and help me to apply it in my life. May my growth not just be for my own benefit, but also to serve others, showing them the depth of Your love and the transformative power of Your grace.

Father, to You be all glory and honor, both now and forever. Guide my thoughts, words, and actions today so that they may bring glory to Your name.
