The Morning Prayer for Sunday, December 24, 2023

The Morning Prayer
Sunday, December 24, 2023

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord"…Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
Luke 2:10–11, 13–14 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, on this blessed Fourth Sunday of Advent, we gather in anticipation and joy, reflecting on Your sacred Word from Luke: "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."

In the stillness of this morning, we embrace the promise of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. His birth heralds a new dawn of hope, peace, and boundless love. As the angels proclaimed, "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests," let our hearts be filled with the same heavenly chorus, praising You for the gift of salvation.

Lord, in this holy season of Advent, guide our thoughts and actions to reflect the light of Christ. Help us to spread His message of peace and goodwill to all. May our lives be a living testament to Your grace and mercy.

As we await the celebration of Jesus' birth, renew in us a spirit of humility and gratitude. May we cherish and emulate His example of love, kindness, and compassion towards our fellow beings.

Bless our families, friends, and communities. Strengthen our faith and resolve to walk in Your ways, trusting in Your divine plan. On this day and always, may our souls magnify Your glory and our spirits rejoice in You, our Savior.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
May this prayer be an encouragement to you as you go through your day.
