The Morning Prayer for Sunday, March 17, 2024

The Morning Prayer
Sunday, March 17, 2024
Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
John 8:31–32
Heavenly Father, as we gather on this Fifth Sunday in Lent, we turn our hearts and minds to Your holy word, especially the message in John 8:31-32. We are reminded that Jesus said, "If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

Lord, in these times of reflection and penance, we seek to deepen our commitment to Your teachings. Help us to continue in Your word, to be true disciples of Christ. In a world filled with confusion and uncertainty, let Your truth guide us, bringing clarity and freedom to our hearts and minds.

We ask for the strength to confront our own shortcomings and the wisdom to seek Your path of righteousness. As we journey through Lent, may we be transformed by Your truth, finding in it the freedom that comes from knowing and loving You more deeply.

Bless our community, Lord, as we strive to live in Your truth. May our words and actions reflect the love and grace You have shown us. Help us to support one another in faith, to be beacons of Your light in a world in need of Your hope and salvation.

We lift up all who are struggling, whether in body, mind, or spirit. May they find comfort in Your presence and strength in Your promises. Guide us, O God, as we seek to be your hands and feet in the world, serving those in need with compassion and love.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, who reveals the truth and sets us free, we pray. Amen.

May this prayer be a source of reflection and spiritual growth during this Lenten season.
