Praying the Scriptures

Tuesday Evening Prayer

July 30, 2024

For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)

Heavenly Father,

As the sun sets and the stillness of the evening envelops us, we come before You, acknowledging our own weaknesses, just as Your Son was crucified in His. Yet, in His resurrection, You displayed unimaginable power, a power that lives in us as we abide in Him.

Lord, in our weaknesses, make Your strength evident. Guide us to rest not on our frailties but on the mighty power of Your grace. As we end this day, help us to surrender all our struggles and fears, trusting that You are sovereign over our lives.

Refresh us through the night, that we may wake renewed, ready to live in the power of Your Spirit. In our dealings, let us embody the love and strength of Christ, that through our words and actions, others may see Your light.

Bless our sleep with peace that comes from knowing You never leave us, and that in every moment, Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. We pray in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

May this prayer bring you peace and comfort this evening.
