Praying the Scriptures
Sunday Evening Prayer
August 25, 2024
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
Gracious and Loving God,
As the day draws to a close, we turn our hearts and minds to You, seeking Your guidance and peace. We are reminded by Your Word in Romans 12:2 to not conform to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds so that we may discern Your perfect will.
Lord, we confess that we are too often swayed by the pressures and values of this world. We ask for Your forgiveness and for the strength to resist the temptations that pull us away from Your path. Renew our minds this evening, O God, and shape our thoughts to align with Your truth.
Help us to focus on what is good, pleasing, and perfect in Your sight. May we be transformed by the power of Your Holy Spirit, becoming living examples of Your grace and love. As we rest tonight, grant us the peace that comes from knowing we are being continually shaped and molded into the image of Your Son.
Guide us as we seek to live out Your will in our daily lives. May our actions, words, and thoughts reflect Your light in the world. Protect us as we sleep, and grant us a renewed spirit in the morning, ready to serve You with a renewed mind and heart.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray.
Amen.
I hope this prayer brings you comfort and peace through the night.
