Praying the Scriptures
Thursday Evening Prayer
October 24, 2024
For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. (John 16:27)
Gracious Lord,
As the coolness of this October evening settles over the land of New Mexico, I come before You with a heart open and yearning for Your presence. In the quiet whispers of the desert wind, I feel Your spirit moving, a gentle reminder of Your enduring love for us.
Father, Your word assures us in John 16:27 that You yourself love us because we have loved Your Son and have believed that He came from You. What a profound truth to carry in our hearts—that our belief and love connect us so directly to Your divine affection!
Tonight, I thank You for this love, a love that is as vast as our skies and as deep as our roots in this sacred earth. Let this love be the lamp that guides my thoughts, the warmth that soothes my spirit, and the strength that upholds my steps.
As the stars begin to pierce the twilight, I pray for those among us who feel distant from Your heart. May they, too, sense Your love reaching out through the shadows, drawing them nearer to Your grace. Enlighten us all with the knowledge of Your Son, Jesus, our beacon and our hope.
Bless our community, our families, and all who dwell in this enchanting land. Keep us under Your protective wing through the night, and lead us into tomorrow with renewed spirits and eager hearts, ready to serve and love as You have loved us.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and comfort as you end your day.
