Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Evening Prayer
November 16, 2024
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
Lord of all seasons,
As I stand beneath the vast New Mexican sky this crisp November evening, my heart is filled with gratitude for the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
In the quiet twilight, where the horizon kisses the earth, I see the shadows lengthen, and the stars begin their nightly vigil, reminding me of Your faithful presence. With faith as my guide, I walk the path laid out before me, trusting in Your unseen hand shaping the future.
Bless this night, O God, and infuse my spirit with the courage of those who walked by faith before me—pioneers of spirit and seekers of Your holy mysteries. Let the cool air that stirs the desert sage be as Your Spirit, moving me to hopeful action and patient endurance.
Grant me, I pray, a restful night under Your watchful eyes, that I may rise with the morning light, renewed and ready to walk the paths of promise, ever trusting in the things not seen but ever sure, according to Your Word.
In Your holy name,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and comfort this evening.
