Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Morning Prayer
November 6, 2024
He will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations; he will swallow up death forever. Then the LORD GOD will wipe away the tears from all faces, and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken. (Isaiah 25:7–8)
Heavenly Father,
As the first light of this November morning spreads across the New Mexican sky, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and reverence. In the stillness of dawn, Your creation awakens with the gentle whisper of Your presence, and I find peace in Your promises.
Lord, You have taught us through Your prophet Isaiah that You will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations. On this mountain, let Your hand lift the veil of darkness from our eyes so that we might see Your truth more clearly and Your love more fully.
You have vowed to swallow up death forever, to wipe away the tears from all faces, and to remove the disgrace of Your people from all the earth. In Your mercy, bring comfort to those who grieve, strength to those who are weak, and hope to those who despair.
As the sun rises, casting long shadows and warming the earth, remind us of the promise of resurrection and eternal life. Let the light of Your love dissolve the mists of uncertainty and fear that cloud our days. Help us to trust in Your eternal plan, not just for our lives but for the whole world.
Thank You, Father, for the assurance that You are always with us and that Your purposes are just and true. On this day, guide our steps, purify our hearts, and use us as instruments of Your peace and agents of Your grace.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you strength and encouragement as you go about your day!
