Praying the Scriptures
Monday Morning Prayer
December 30, 2024
And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.” (Luke 1:46–49)
Gracious and loving Lord,
This morning, as the sun rises over the desert and casts its golden glow upon the land, my soul magnifies You. I join creation in praising Your holy name, for You are the One who has looked upon my humble heart with tender mercy.
Here, in this sacred season of Christmastide, I rejoice in the great things You have done for me. You, O Mighty One, have lifted me, not because of my merit, but because of Your boundless love. Your mercy is like the soft rain that nourishes the arid soil, bringing life and beauty where there was once barrenness.
I am humbled by the gift of Your Son, born to bring salvation and peace. Like Mary, I marvel that You, the Holy One, have seen fit to enter into our world, not in splendor but in humility, to dwell among us. Truly, Your name is holy, and Your ways are beyond my understanding.
As I go about this day, I pray that my heart remains fixed on You. Let my actions reflect the joy and gratitude I feel in my soul. Let my words magnify Your greatness, and may I serve others in a way that honors the gift of Your love.
Thank You for the blessings of this day, for the warmth of family, and the peace of knowing that You are ever-present in my life. May I carry the light of Christ into the world, sharing the good news of His birth with all I meet.
In the name of Jesus, whose birth we celebrate and whose glory we proclaim, I pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and strength as you start your day.
