Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Morning Prayer
December 28, 2024
When the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children. (Galatians 4:4–5)
Good morning, gracious God,
On this blessed fourth day of Christmas, I lift my heart to You, filled with gratitude for the gift of Your Son. As the Scripture declares, "When the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children." What a wondrous truth to carry into this day!
I marvel at Your perfect timing, Lord. You fulfilled Your promise at just the right moment, sending Jesus into the world not as a conquering king but as a humble child. You came to redeem me, to lift me out of bondage, and to adopt me as Your beloved child. Today, I embrace this truth anew, rejoicing that I belong to You.
Here in the land of enchantment, I see reminders of Your presence in the crisp morning air, the sun rising over the desert, and the vibrant hues of the landscape. As I light the luminarias in my heart, may they reflect Your love shining through me. Let my words and actions today declare the joy of my redemption and adoption into Your family.
Guide me to live in the spirit of Your Son, Jesus, embodying His grace and peace to all I encounter. Whether I walk among neighbors, offer a helping hand, or share a simple smile, may I do so as a reflection of Your boundless love.
Thank You, Lord, for the gift of this day and for the gift of belonging to You. May my life sing a hymn of gratitude for the precious gift of Jesus, who came to redeem me and make me Yours.
In His holy and redeeming name, I pray.
Amen.
I hope this prayer brings you peace and inspiration as you start your day.
