Praying the Scriptures
Thursday Evening Prayer
February 27, 2025
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Beware, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Revelation 2:10)
Heavenly Father,
As the cool February night settles over the desert, I pause beneath Your vast heavens, where the stars proclaim Your majesty. The wind whispers through the mesquite and sage, and I am reminded that even in the stillness, You are near.
Lord, I do not know what trials tomorrow may bring, nor what burdens I may yet bear. But You have commanded me not to fear. The road of faith is not always smooth, and the path of righteousness is often shadowed by hardship. Yet, You have promised the crown of life to those who endure, to those who remain steadfast in their love and devotion to You.
Grant me the courage to stand firm when the weight of this world presses down. Help me to embrace the testing of my faith as a refining fire, knowing that my strength is found not in myself, but in You alone. When doubt creeps in like the night’s chill, remind me of Your steadfast love, warming my soul like the glow of a campfire beneath the desert sky.
Lord, I lift to You all who suffer tonight—the weary, the wounded, the ones facing trials beyond their strength. May they feel the comfort of Your presence, the assurance of Your promises, and the hope of the eternal life You have prepared for those who love You.
As I lay my head down to rest, I place my trust in You, my Rock and my Redeemer. Whether in joy or in sorrow, in ease or in affliction, I choose to be faithful, for You are faithful to the end.
In the name of Jesus, the First and the Last,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and comfort as you end your day.
