Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Evening Prayer
February 5, 2025
I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. (Psalm 9:1–2)
Gracious and Eternal God,
As the desert sky fades into hues of purple and gold, I pause to reflect on Your goodness and mercy. The stillness of this February evening reminds me of Your unchanging presence, and I am compelled to give You thanks with my whole heart.
I recount the many ways You have blessed me today—the warmth of the sun on my face, the crisp mountain air filling my lungs, and the quiet assurance that You are near. In every small detail, I see Your hand at work, and my spirit rejoices in Your faithfulness.
Tonight, I sing praises to Your name, O Most High. The stars above testify to Your glory, and my soul echoes their song. Even in the challenges of the day, I see glimpses of Your purpose, and I trust in Your sovereign plan for my life.
As I prepare to rest, I ask for Your peace to settle over me. Guard my heart and mind through the night, and awaken me with renewed strength to face another day in Your service. May my life continually reflect the gratitude I feel for Your steadfast love and enduring grace.
In the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior, I pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring you comfort and strength as you reflect on God's promises this evening.
