Praying the Scriptures

Thursday Evening Prayer

March 27, 2025

For in him every one of God’s promises is a “Yes.” For this reason it is through him that we say the “Amen,” to the glory of God. But it is God who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us, by putting his seal on us and giving us his Spirit in our hearts as a first installment. (2 Corinthians 1:20-22)

Heavenly Father,

As the evening settles over the desert, and the western sky is painted in hues of fire and gold, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude. The cool breeze whispers through the mesquite and creosote, and the stars begin their silent vigil above this land You have shaped. In this sacred stillness, I lift my soul to You.

Your promises, O Lord, find their “Yes” in Christ, and in Him, I find my hope. No matter how uncertain the path may seem, Your faithfulness is my foundation. You have sealed me with Your Spirit, marking me as Your own. When the day's burdens weigh heavy, I rest in the assurance that You have established me in Christ, strengthening me for all that lies ahead.

As I reflect on this day, I see Your hand at work—the kindness of a stranger, the warmth of fellowship, the beauty of creation speaking of Your majesty. Even in the trials, I trust that You are shaping me, refining my faith, drawing me closer to You.

Lord, as I lay my head down beneath the vast New Mexico sky, I surrender my worries and place my trust in Your unshakable love. May my heart be ever attuned to Your voice, my steps aligned with Your will, and my spirit anchored in Your truth. Let me rise with the dawn ready to proclaim Your faithfulness once more.

In the name of Jesus, who is my “Yes” and my Amen, I pray.

Amen.

May the peace of Christ, who is our Yes and Amen, rest upon you this night, sealing you in His love and guiding your heart ever deeper into His unshakable faithfulness.
