Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Evening Prayer

April 5, 2025

For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. (Psalm 62:5-8)

O Lord,

As the sun sets behind the rugged peaks of the Florida Mountains, I rest in the stillness of Your presence. The warm desert breeze whispers through the mesquite and creosote, and in the hush of this spring evening, my soul waits in silence for You.

You alone, O God, are my refuge, my hope, my stronghold in an ever-shifting world. When my spirit grows weary, I lean upon You, for You are my rock and salvation. The golden hues of the western sky remind me of Your unshakable faithfulness, and the vastness of the desert mirrors the depth of Your love.

I pour out my heart before You, knowing You hear my every sigh. The weight of the day’s burdens I lay at Your feet, trusting that You will sustain me. Let me not be shaken by worries or fears, but instead find rest in Your embrace.

As the evening stars begin to shine, I lift my eyes to the heavens and give thanks. You are my fortress, my shelter from the storms of life, and I take refuge in You. Watch over me through the night, O Lord, and let my heart be at peace, for You alone are my hope, now and forever.

Amen.

May the peace of God, like the stillness of the desert night, guard your heart and mind, and may you rest securely in His unshakable love.
