Praying the Scriptures

Wednesday Evening Prayer

May 21, 2025

For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)

Gracious and Righteous God,

As the sun dips low behind Red Mountain and the desert wind softens into a hush, I pause in the sacred stillness of this spring evening to praise You. I am not ashamed of the gospel—it is Your power that has rescued and renewed me. In this land of open sky and silent arroyos, I see the evidence of Your faithfulness written across the horizon.

You have made me right with You—not through my striving, but through faith. Just as the righteous live by faith, I seek to end this day trusting not in what my hands have done, but in what You have already accomplished through Christ. Let this evening rest be a quiet declaration: that Your truth still speaks, still saves, still strengthens.

May I walk into the night wrapped in the warmth of Your promises, with a heart awakened again to the wonder of grace.

Amen.

May the quiet of this spring night deepen your faith, and may the righteousness of God guide your rest and renew your spirit.
