Praying the Scriptures
Sunday Evening Prayer
July 6, 2025
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. (Romans 8:14–15a)
Gracious Father,
As the moon climbs over the silhouette of the Florida Mountains and the first stars blink awake in the quiet sky, I pause in this sacred stillness. The desert lies hushed beneath heaven’s light, and I breathe in the cool air, wrapped in the wonder of Your presence.
You have not called me to fear, but to freedom. I am no longer bound by what was—I belong to You. Not as a servant trembling in uncertainty, but as a child adopted by love. This morning, I remember who I am: led by Your Spirit, held in Your mercy, and welcomed into Your family with open arms.
Let the peace of this hour anchor me today. Let Your Spirit stir in me like the breeze rustling through the creosote and ocotillo, quiet yet undeniable. Where shadows of doubt might linger, speak again Your promise of belonging. Where I hesitate to trust, remind me that I do not walk alone.
Abba, I rise with courage—not because the road is easy, but because You are with me. Lead me through this day in boldness and joy, for I am Yours.
Amen.
May you walk in the quiet strength of the Spirit, knowing you are no longer a slave to fear, but a cherished child of God, led by His love into each new day.
