Praying the Scriptures

Sunday Evening Prayer

November 30, 2025

“Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise.… Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds among mortals.”Psalm 66:1–2, 5

Lord,

As this last night of November settles gently over the desert, I pause beneath the quiet sky and lift my heart in thanksgiving. The cool air carries a hush that feels almost sacred, and in this stillness I remember Your call: “Make a joyful noise to God… sing the glory of his name… come and see what God has done.” Tonight, I answer that call—not with trumpet blasts or loud shouts, but with the steady, grateful praise that rises from a soul You have carried through another month.

I give You glory, Lord, for the countless ways Your hand has guided me—seen and unseen. I think back over these past weeks, over the joys, challenges, conversations, and moments that shaped my days, and I see Your fingerprints in all of them. You have done awesome things in my life, sometimes quietly, sometimes boldly, but always with a love that leaves me humbled. Even when I did not recognize it at the time, You were there, strengthening me, correcting my path, and drawing me deeper into Your grace.

As the desert wind moves softly through the cottonwoods and the last light fades behind the mountains, I rest in the assurance that You are the same God who parted seas, restored hope, and redeemed Your people. You are still doing awesome deeds among mortals—even among those like me, who come before You tonight with simple thanks and imperfect praise.

So I lift my voice—quietly, reverently, joyfully—and offer You the glory that is Yours alone. Let my life itself become a song of praise as I step into a new month. And as I lay down to rest, I trust that the same God who brought me through November will lead me faithfully into December and beyond.

Amen.

May the God whose awesome deeds sustain us fill our nights with peace, our hearts with gratitude, and our steps with trusting hope as we enter a new month together.
