Praying the Scriptures

Thursday Morning Prayer

December 18, 2025

“Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion; and to you shall vows be performed, O you who answer prayer! To you all flesh shall come.”Psalm 65:1–2

Lord,

As this Advent morning breaks, I lift my heart to You with quiet joy, remembering the psalmist’s words that praise belongs to You and that You are the One who hears prayer. In the stillness of this Thursday of the Third Week of Advent, I come with gratitude that You invite me to draw near—not because of my worthiness, but because of Your steadfast love. Let my first thoughts today be shaped by the hope that rises from knowing You listen, You welcome, and You answer in Your perfect time.

As I move into the tasks ahead, fill me with the inner joy that Advent promises—joy not rooted in circumstances, but in the nearness of Your presence. When worries try to settle in, remind me that You are the God who receives every whisper of my heart. By Your grace, help me walk through this day attentive to Your voice and anchored in the confidence that You draw Your people close, cleansing us, restoring us, and strengthening us with Your mercy.

Prepare my spirit to welcome Christ anew, O Lord, for in Him all hope finds its home. Let this day be shaped by joyful expectancy, as I wait for the fullness of Your salvation and trust the quiet work You are doing within me. May my thoughts, my words, and my actions reflect the gratitude of one who knows that You hear, that You respond, and that You guide me into Your peace.

Amen.

May the God who hears every prayer guide us in joy and peace as we walk in hopeful expectation of Christ’s coming.
