Praying the Scriptures
Tuesday Morning Prayer
December 9, 2025
“From there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find him if you search after him with all your heart and soul.” — Deuteronomy 4:29
Lord my God,
As this Tuesday dawns softly over the desert and the first light stretches long shadows across the sand, I turn my heart toward You once more. In this quiet hour, when the sky blushes with gentle colors and the world has not yet stirred, I confess how often I have wandered—chasing lesser lights, listening to hurried voices, forgetting the nearness of Your presence. Yet even here, even now, You invite me to seek You with all my heart and soul, and I feel the steady pull of Your mercy drawing me home.
I rise this morning with a longing that only You can fill. Let my searching be honest and wholehearted, uncluttered by fear or distraction, shaped by the hope that defines this holy season. In the stillness, I listen for Your footsteps, trusting that You draw near to those who watch and wait. Purify my desires, Lord, and guide my wandering thoughts back to the path of Your light.
As the day unfolds, help me remain ready for Your coming—not only in the great mystery of Advent but in every small moment where Your grace breaks through. Meet me in my seeking, reveal Yourself in my listening, and let this morning’s quiet yearning grow into a steadfast love that follows You faithfully. Here I am, Lord; my heart returns to You again.
Amen.
May the God who meets all who seek with honest hearts guide us in hope, steady our steps in love, and prepare us to welcome Christ’s coming with joy.
