Sunday Evening Prayer

January 18, 2026

“My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy … Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”James 1:2, 12

Heavenly Father,

As the twilight deepens over the Florida Mountains and the crisp winter air settles upon the high desert, I come before You in the stillness of this Sunday evening. The quiet of the night descends on Deming, offering a pause from the day’s labors and a moment to reflect on the unity we seek within Your Church. In this silence, I am reminded that the testing of my faith is not without purpose, and I ask for the grace to see my current challenges not as obstacles, but as the very ground where Your steadfast patience is taking root.

Though the darkness gathers, I trust in Your light to pierce through the uncertainty and the frailty of my human understanding. I confess that my strength is often small and my vision limited, yet I hold to the promise that blessed is the one who endures temptation. Where I feel weak or discouraged by the slow pace of change, remind me that Your power is perfect and that You are quietly at work beneath the surface, transforming trials into a proven character that reflects Your love.

As I prepare for rest, I place my hope securely in Your ability to bring abundant growth from even the humblest seeds of faith sown this week. Grant me a peaceful sleep, anchored in the assurance that the crown of life awaits those who love You and remain steadfast. May I wake with a renewed spirit, ready to embrace the day ahead with quiet confidence, trusting that You are faithfully weaving our diverse lives into a single, vibrant tapestry of grace.

Amen.

May the God of all grace guard your rest this night and strengthen our hearts in unity, that we may endure every trial with the joy of His steadfast love.
