Thursday Morning Prayer

January 22, 2026

“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28

Gracious God,

As the sharp chill of this January morning settles over the high desert, I come to You seeking the deep rest that only Your presence can provide. The air here in Deming is crisp and still, a reminder of the quiet solitude where faith is often tested and purified. In this early silence, before the demands of the day take hold, I lay down the weariness that clings to my spirit and acknowledge that my own strength is insufficient for the journey ahead. I look toward the horizon where the sun will soon crest, trusting that just as the light returns to these vast plains, Your mercy is already here, waiting to lift the heaviness from my shoulders and replace it with Your peace.

As the morning light begins to break, illuminating the shadows of the valley, I am reminded of the singular bond that unites all who follow You—one faith and one baptism. Though the world often feels fractured and my own efforts can seem small and insignificant, I hold fast to the truth that Your power works perfectly within my weakness. Grant me the grace to see beyond my own limitations and to trust in Your ability to bring unity and growth from even the smallest seeds of hope. Where I feel frail or uncertain, let me find comfort in the shared communion of believers, remembering that the burden is lightened when we walk together in the yoke of Your love.

I step forward into this Thursday with a renewed sense of purpose, trading my anxiety for a quiet confidence in Your provision. May my heart remain open to the gentle guidance of Your Spirit, allowing me to be a vessel of reconciliation and rest in this community. Let the stillness of this desert morning linger in my soul throughout the day, grounding me in the assurance that You are cultivating life in unseen places. I entrust this day, my labors, and my life to Your care, walking in the freedom of Your grace and the certainty that I do not walk alone.

Amen.

May the One who lifts our heavy burdens unite us in one faith and baptism, granting us deep peace as we walk together in the light of His love.
