The Morning Prayer for Wednesday, February 14, 2024

The Daily Prayer
Wednesday, February 14, 2024
Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
Romans 5:1-5 (NRSV)
Heavenly Father, as we gather in Your presence this Ash Wednesday morning, we come humbly, reminded of our human frailty and our need for Your grace. In the spirit of Romans 5:1-5, we embrace the peace we have found in You through our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank You for the gift of faith that grants us access into this grace in which we stand.

On this solemn day, we reflect on our sufferings, knowing that they produce endurance. Lord, help us to see our challenges as opportunities to grow stronger in our faith and closer to You. Let this endurance shape our character, and may our character bring forth a hope that does not disappoint.

Fill our hearts with Your love, poured into us through the Holy Spirit. As we wear the ashes today, let them be a sign of our penitence and a symbol of our mortality. May we remember that from dust we came, and to dust we shall return, but through Your love, we are promised eternal life.

Guide us through this Lenten season. May it be a time of sincere reflection, heartfelt repentance, and growing closer to You. Help us to embody the teachings of Christ in our daily lives, showing love, kindness, and humility to all.

In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
As you embark on your day, facing both its challenges and blessings, may this prayer serve as spiritual nourishment and a source of peace for your heart.
