Praying the Scriptures

Monday Evening Prayer

July 22, 2024

You are those who have stood by me in my trials; and I confer on you, just as my Father has conferred on me, a kingdom, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. (Luke 22:28–30a)

Gracious and Loving God,

As the day draws to a close, we come before You with grateful hearts. We thank You for Your unwavering presence and the strength You provide us through every trial and triumph. Just as Jesus acknowledged His disciples for staying with Him in His trials, we humbly seek Your guidance and support to remain steadfast in our faith through all life's challenges.

Lord, we are inspired by Your promise to grant us a place at Your table in Your kingdom. Help us to live in a manner worthy of this calling, showing compassion, kindness, and mercy to those around us. May we serve others with the same humility and love that Jesus demonstrated, drawing strength from His example.

As we rest tonight, we ask for Your peace to fill our hearts and minds. Grant us restful sleep and renewed energy to face the new day with courage and faith. We place our trust in You, knowing that Your plans for us are good and Your love for us is everlasting.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, who reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.

May this prayer bring peace and reflection to your evening.
