Praying the Scriptures
Monday Evening Prayer
July 29, 2024
For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God. (2 Corinthians 13:4)
Heavenly Father,
As the day draws to a close, we come before You with grateful hearts, reflecting on Your infinite grace and love. In this quiet hour, we seek Your presence and guidance, mindful of the words from 2 Corinthians 13:4: "For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God."
Lord, we acknowledge our own weaknesses and imperfections. We have faced challenges and trials today that have tested our strength and patience. Yet, we find solace in knowing that Your power is made perfect in our weakness. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, who was crucified in weakness yet lives by Your mighty power, we too are empowered to rise above our struggles.
Grant us the strength to embrace our weaknesses, trusting in Your power to sustain and uplift us. Help us to live each day with the assurance that Your strength is our source of hope and resilience. May we reflect Your love and grace in all our interactions, becoming vessels of Your peace and compassion.
As we prepare to rest, we ask for Your protection and peace to envelop us. Calm our minds and soothe our hearts, allowing us to release any burdens we carry. Fill our dreams with visions of Your glory and let Your presence be our comfort throughout the night.
We thank You, Lord, for the gift of this day and for the promise of Your enduring power and love. In the name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen.
May this prayer bring peace and reflection to your evening.
