Praying the Scriptures

Saturday Evening Prayer

July 27, 2024

I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. (John 10:16)

Heavenly Father, Shepherd of all,

As night falls around us and the world grows quiet, we come before You with hearts seeking peace. In the spirit of Your son, Jesus, who spoke of other sheep and one flock, we pray for unity and love across all borders and divisions.

Help us to hear Your voice in the stillness of this evening, guiding us towards actions and thoughts that bridge gaps and heal wounds. Teach us to embrace the diversity of Your creation, recognizing in each other the image of the divine.

Bless those who feel lost or distant from Your fold. May they hear Your call and feel the warmth of Your love through our actions and words. As we settle into the calm of this night, let us rest in the assurance that we are all part of Your greater plan, united under one shepherd.

Grant us a peaceful night, O Lord, and a sunrise that brings us closer to each other and to You.

In Your holy name, we pray, Amen.

May this prayer bring peace and comfort to your evening.
