Praying the Scriptures
Sunday Evening Prayer
July 28, 2024
But law came in, with the result that the trespass multiplied; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. (Romans 5:20)
Heavenly Father,
As night descends around us and the world quiets, we come before You in humble reflection, grateful for Your boundless grace. Lord, we remember the words of Paul in Romans, "where sin increased, grace abounded all the more." In the stillness of this evening, we acknowledge our faults, the moments we fell short today, and the shadows within us.
Yet, we are not disheartened, for Your grace is more powerful than all our shortcomings. We thank You for the love that overflows, washing over our transgressions and lifting our burdens. May Your grace continue to teach us, guide us, and shape us into bearers of Your light.
As we prepare for rest, surround us with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Protect us through the night, and renew our spirits, that we may wake with renewed hearts eager to reflect Your love and grace to others.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, we pray,
Amen.
