Praying the Scriptures

Sunday Morning Prayer

July 28, 2024

But law came in, with the result that the trespass multiplied; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. (Romans 5:20)

Gracious and loving God,

As the dawn breaks and a new day unfolds, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and reverence. We thank You for the gift of this day, for the breath in our lungs, and for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Lord, Your Word reminds us in Romans 5:20 that "where sin increased, grace abounded all the more." We stand in awe of Your boundless grace, a grace that overflows and meets us in our deepest need. In the moments when we falter and fall short, Your grace abounds even more, lifting us up and drawing us closer to You.

Help us, O Lord, to embrace this day with the assurance of Your grace. Let it wash over us, cleansing our hearts and renewing our spirits. May we extend this grace to others, showing love and compassion in all our interactions.

As we navigate the challenges and blessings of today, let Your grace guide our thoughts, words, and actions. May we be vessels of Your mercy, reflecting Your light and love in a world that desperately needs it.

We pray for strength to overcome our weaknesses, for wisdom to make choices that honor You, and for courage to face whatever comes our way. May Your Holy Spirit fill us and empower us to live out our faith with joy and purpose.

In the name of Jesus Christ, who embodies Your perfect grace, we pray.

Amen.
