Praying the Scriptures
Wednesday Evening Prayer
July 31, 2024
There are many who say, “O that we might see some good! Let the light of your face shine on us, O LORD!” (Psalm 4:6)
Gracious and Loving God,
As the day draws to a close and the evening shadows fall, we come before You with grateful hearts. In the stillness of this hour, we seek Your face and Your peace, as the psalmist declared: “Let the light of Your face shine on us, O LORD.”
We thank You for the light You have given us throughout this day, for the moments of joy, the challenges that have strengthened us, and the grace that has sustained us. As we prepare to rest, we ask that Your divine light may illuminate our hearts and minds, dispelling all fears and anxieties.
Grant us the serenity to reflect on our day with gratitude and to entrust our cares into Your loving hands. May Your presence be a comforting light in the darkness, guiding us through the night and into a new day filled with hope and renewed strength.
Bless those we love, and keep them safe under Your watchful care. We lift up those who are in need, the sick, the lonely, and the troubled, asking that Your light may bring healing, comfort, and peace.
As we close our eyes to sleep, we rest in the assurance of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. May Your light, O Lord, continue to shine upon us, filling our dreams with Your presence and our spirits with Your peace.
In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you comfort and strength as you reflect on God's promises this evening.
