Praying the Scriptures
Friday Evening Prayer
August 30, 2024
My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:27–28)
Gracious Shepherd,
As the day draws to a close and the shadows of night begin to fall, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude. We give thanks for Your unceasing presence and guidance throughout this day.
Your Word reminds us that Your sheep hear Your voice, and You know us by name. In the quiet of this evening, may we hear Your voice calling us, leading us to still waters of peace and rest. Strengthen our faith to trust in Your promises, for You have given us the assurance of eternal life.
Lord, we rest in the knowledge that no one can snatch us from Your hand. In Your loving embrace, we find refuge from the fears and worries that weigh on our hearts. Guard us tonight as we sleep, and let us awaken tomorrow with renewed strength, ready to follow You wherever You lead.
We entrust ourselves to Your care, knowing that in You we are safe, now and forever.
In the name of Jesus, our Good Shepherd, we pray.
Amen.
