Praying the Scriptures
Friday Morning Prayer
August 30, 2024
My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:27–28)
Gracious Shepherd,
As the new day dawns, I come before You with a heart open to Your voice. Your word reminds me that I am Yours, one of Your flock and that You know me by name. You call out to me, and I long to follow You with all my being.
Guide my steps today, Lord, that I may walk in Your ways. Let my ears be attuned to Your voice amidst the noise of the world. In every decision I face, may I choose the path that draws me closer to You.
Thank You, Shepherd of my soul, for the promise that no one can snatch me from Your hand. In Your care, I find security and peace. No fear can overwhelm me, for I rest in the assurance of Your eternal embrace.
As I go forth into this day, may I reflect Your love and grace in all I do. Strengthen me to serve others with the same care You show to me, that through my life, others may hear Your call and follow You.
In the name of Jesus, my Shepherd and Lord,
Amen.
May this prayer bring you peace and inspiration for the day ahead.
