Praying the Scriptures
Monday Evening Prayer
August 26, 2024
Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long. (Psalm 25:4–5)
Gracious and Loving God,
As the day draws to a close and the quiet of evening settles around us, we come before You in humble prayer. We seek Your guidance and wisdom, just as the psalmist did, saying, "Make me to know Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth, and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all day long."
Lord, in this stillness, reveal to us the paths You would have us walk. Illuminate our minds with Your truth and fill our hearts with Your understanding. We confess that we often stray from the way You set before us, and we ask for Your gentle correction to lead us back into the light of Your presence.
As we lay down to rest, we place our trust in You, knowing that Your ways are perfect and Your truth is unfailing. We surrender the burdens of this day into Your hands, asking for Your peace to guard our hearts and minds through the night.
Teach us, O Lord, to wait upon You with patient hearts, trusting that in Your time, You will reveal all things according to Your will. Strengthen our faith as we rest, so that when morning comes, we may rise renewed in spirit, ready to follow the path You have laid before us.
We give You thanks for Your steadfast love and faithfulness. Be our guide and our light, now and always.
In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.
May this prayer bring peace and reflection to your evening.
