Praying the Scriptures
Saturday Evening Prayer
August 31, 2024
Think of us in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy. (1 Corinthians 4:1–2)
Gracious and Loving God,
As the day comes to a close and the night enfolds us in its quiet embrace, we pause to reflect on the calling You have placed upon our lives. You have entrusted us with the mysteries of Your kingdom, making us stewards of Your divine truth. In humility, we acknowledge the sacred responsibility You have given us.
Lord, help us to be found trustworthy in all that we do. Grant us the strength to carry out our duties with faithfulness and integrity, knowing that it is not the praise of others we seek, but Your approval alone. Let our actions be guided by Your wisdom, and our words be a reflection of Your love.
As we lay down to rest, may our hearts be at peace, knowing that we have served You with all that we are. Refresh our spirits in the quiet of this night, and prepare us for the new opportunities to serve You that tomorrow will bring.
We offer this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, our faithful Lord and Savior.
Amen.
May this prayer bring peace and comfort to your evening.
